Yesterday on the weekly 2KCast show @Ronnie2K and @LD2K sat down and revealed some interesting details about the way card tiers are going to be handled in NBA 2K16's MyTeam mode. As usual, all of these details are subject to change, and both @Ronnie2K and @LD2K stressed that they have barely scratched the surface on whats to come for NBA 2K16's MyTeam mode. Here is a recap of what was covered:
New Card Classes & Card Themes
MyTeam cards in 2K16 will fit into one of five different classes. Along with a card belonging to a class, the card can also be part of a certain "theme". During the stream it was revealed that there will be many different themes and we were given the breakdown on two of them.
MyTeam cards will now consist of five different classes. The classes are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Amethyst, and Diamond. A card's class is chosen by their overall rating, and the higher their overall rating the higher their class will be. Along with a class, a card can belong to one of many "themes".
These cards will feature dynamic ratings that will change along with any roster updates that effect that player. This means that when a roster update drops, your "Green" MyTeam card will reflect any changes in that update including stat increases, decreases, and team changes. It was not revealed how injuries would be handled.
This theme is meant to reflect memorable moments from the season. When a memorable moment occurs in the upcoming NBA season, 2K will release a "Moments" version of that player with stats that reflect their performance (ex: if a player hits a large number of 3's, the "Moments" card will get a large increase in 3 point shooting over the base card). It was stressed that the "Moments" theme was made to showcase memorable moments by current NBA players in the upcoming season, however Ronnie hinted that there is a possibility of past moments getting cards.
What is your opinion on the new changes to the way MyTeam cards are going to be handled? Tell us in the comments!
